Regulus kicked a stone along his path and watched it skip a few feet away before it collided with a tree. It was actually sunny out for once, and though still a bit cold it wasn't ridiculously so.  Unable to spend another minute inside the library he decided to go for a walk around the grounds. He'd been in a foul mood all day, and was attributing it to a bad case of cabin fever.  His classes were boring, his friends were either up to their ears in schoolwork or busy chasing after girls and the people who were around....well, they weren't worth being around.

Except maybe Emmeline. She didn't seem so bad. She was pretty, and she was actually nice to him from the start. (A big plus when you're in Slytherin) And at 14, what other qualities was he really looking for?

Regulus kicked another stone, though quite a bit harder and listened as it skipped along....and hit someone in the leg.

"I don't know if I should," He said with a chuckle, "After all, the Great Regulus Black does not cook."
"Cooking is different than baking. Cooking doesn't involve chocolate on a regular basis." Emma was clearly trying to tempt him.
"Chocolate?" Regulus grinned, "I may have to make an exception. I would, of course, need someone to teach me how to cook..." Regulus let his back slide down the tree trunk until he was sitting next to her and gave her his saddest look. "Otherwise I'll wind up blowing up half the castle."
"Oh, I think I might know someone willing to teach you..." Emma smiled warmly at him. "Can't h ave you blowing up the school. Now to convince the house elves to let us use the kitchen."
Regulus winced. "That might take some convincing. But I'm sure we could find a way. They've gotta sleep sometime right? Or maybe we could tell them they have to clean a different part of the castle? I'm sure a small white lie in the interests of preserving the school would be justified."
